Join Us!

We couldn’t serve thousands of neighbors in need without the support of our amazing volunteers. More than 400 people volunteered at the Pantry in 2023. A total of 15,504 service hours were donated! Volunteer time is valued at $31.80 per hour. And that means the value of volunteer time donated last year was nearly $500,000!

Check all of our Volunteer resources!

  • Volunteer Application: Get started by filling out the online Volunteer Application Form. (See first green button on right.)

  • Required Volunteer Forms: Review and electronically sign our forms.  No more paper!  (See second green button on right.) NOTE: If you are under the age of 18, we require a printed Minor Acknowledgement Form signed by the volunteer and a parent/guardian to be submitted in-person. This form can be found in the Volunteer Handbook or you can contact us by emailing volunteer@GlenHouseFoodPantry.org.

  • Volunteer Orientation: Learn about the Pantry, including our long history and the impact we are making in our communities. The 45-minute presentation, which includes a Pantry tour, is offered once a month at the Pantry. Great opportunity for new volunteers to learn the ropes and a perfect chance for long-time volunteers to get up-to-date information on new services and procedures. To register, see “Volunteer Orientation” button on right.

  • Volunteer Handbook: Explore this great resource which has information about the Pantry’s mission and history and important details about safety and other policies.  (See fourth green button on right.)

  • VicNet Portal: Once you are an active volunteer, you may access our online Volunteer Information Center (VIC). (Click the fifth green button on the right or download the app on your phone; Pantry staff can help if you need it).

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Food Recovery Pick-Ups:  Drive your own vehicle to local grocery stores to pick-up daily donations and deliver to the Pantry.

  • Food Stocking: Sort food donations and restock shelves.

  • Client Services: Assist clients with appointments or who walk-in with their shopping.  (must be vaccinated).

  • Special Projects:  Assemble Pantry direct mailings, help with holiday grocery distribution, participate in fundraisers, and more. (volunteers will be notified when assistance is needed).

PLEASE NOTE:

Unfortunately, the Pantry cannot provide community service hours. The only evening the Pantry has volunteer hours is Tuesday and they are very limited. We currently have no volunteer hours available Friday - Sunday.
